Zambomba Fiesta Flamenca 2024

This solidarity event, led by Yota Baron, arrives in the Netherlands featuring a blend of flamenco, workshops, and art.

Zambomba is a musical percussion instrument found in Latin America and Spain, used to accompany Christmas gatherings with family, friends, and neighbors. It also refers to the Christmas fiesta itself. During these celebrations, people sing villancicos (Christmas songs), often in choirs.

The funds raised from this event will benefit the Christodoulion Orphanage in Athens, which supports and cares for vulnerable children. Since its inception 14 years ago, Zambomba has evolved into more than just a flamenco event; it has become a benchmark for art and solidarity. The event unites renowned flamenco artists to celebrate and raise funds for charitable causes while promoting community engagement.

This year, the flamenco party will take place at Podium Mozaïek and will feature two exceptional artists from Jerez. Juan Paredes, a highly regarded flamenco dancer, will conduct an exclusive dance workshop, the results of which will be showcased live during the event.

Joining Paredes is David el Gamba, a cantaor and compás teacher, who will help transform Zambomba into a flamenco celebration focused on solidarity and support for those in need.
