Cathedral of the Scapino Ballet of Rotterdam

Scapino Ballet Rotterdam presents its acclaimed production “Cathedral,” created by Spanish dancer and theater artist Marcos Morau.

La Veronal’s director, Marcos Morau, presents a piece that explores the impact of digital technology on human life and the increasing disconnection between people. Based on a previous successful production, this work uses the meditative music of Arvo Pärt to reflect on what it means to be human and our relationship with nature.

Cathedral combines dance, scenic design, and video projections in a retro-futuristic setting. The design incorporates elements of contemporary fashion, creating a world where technology dominates, while Pärt’s music provides moments of serenity.

Today, we experience history at such a rapid pace that I believe we can no longer keep up with it. In my Cathedral, I wanted to express all my thoughts about the constant search for answers to survive in this world.
