A Singular Beauty by Lorena Nogal

As part of “CaDance,” the annual contemporary dance festival in The Hague, the program “Spiel” will showcase works by Lea Ved, Karolin Stächele, and Lorena Nogal, the winner of Spain’s 2024 National Dance Prize.

The project hosts Spiel, a scenic proposal composed of three choreographic works developed by international creators under the ChoreoLab International platform. The program includes Flare like the doves by Lea Ved (USA), RE:JOY by Karolin Stächele (Germany) and Una Belleza Singular by Lorena Nogal (Spain).

A Singular Beauty

Nogal’s work examines the everyday acts of dressing and undressing as a foundation for reflecting on identity, transformation, and the tensions between choice and imposition.

Lorena Nogal

Lorena Nogal is a choreographer and dancer born in Barcelona. She received Spain’s National Dance Award 2024. She was a member of IT Dansa and has been working with the company La Veronal since 2008. Additionally, she has collaborated on productions for companies such as Nederlands Dans Theater and The Royal Danish Ballet. In 2016, she was named the best dancer in Catalonia. Furthermore, she founded HOTEL col-lectiu escènic and continues to advance her research in movement through the KOVA method.
